Watch Part II of the climate action plan meeting following our May 6th climate cohort work group launch.
A key point that was made touched upon Vulnerability & Environmental Justice. The whole point of this process is about reducing carbon emissions. As a group, we’re seeking to identify climate hazards & identify where the exposure to those sources is in addition to determining where we are really susceptible to harm, and how we can protect ourselves.
Two areas were identified where we have most vulnerability in northwest Indiana:
- More high heat events
- More extreme precipitation
